Shanikas Pakenham is one of the places you go to for Italian. They have a traditional section of their menu for the more well known Italian dishes, such as spaghetti and ravioli, and then there’s other mains such as beef cheeks and puttanesca. Pakenham Thai Restaurant offers you great Thai food outside of the Melbourne city. Although it doesn’t have a lot of the well known noodle dishes, it makes up for it in the famous Thai sweet and sour soup that is Tom Yum, as well as options from the Thai charcoal grill. Try out some of the salads, with fresh chillies if you like your beef and duck salads to have a little kick in it.

Since it used to be a more industrial area, with farmlands, agriculture and light industry, there are still some of those warehouses and buildings that are good for larger items that you can store, such as caravans and other larger vehicles. However, since the more recent housing development, Pakenham has more residential storage options now, with garages, bedrooms and other outdoor spaces available for rent.

The Princes Freeway intersects Pakenham horizontally on its way into the Melbourne city, as does the Princes Highway. Since both are main roads, it does get a lot of use and is the most direct route into Pakenham. Despite the distance it has to the Melbourne city, there’s still a chance that park hour traffic could affect how long it will take you to get into the suburb. There are smaller streets that you can use, however it may take a little longer than the direct route will take. With traffic though, those routes may end up taking less time than the freeways.
