It’s not difficult to find good food here, with an abundance of cafes and restaurants to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Try Kastury’s Indian Cuisine for strong spices, flavours and delightful service. Try their cheese and garlic naan bread, take your pick from beef, seafood, lamb, vegetarian and chicken dishes and finish your meal with some fried ice cream or rice pudding topped with nuts and almond cream. Kastury’s isn’t the only place that does spice. Serranos does authentic Mexican food with different levels of spice that you can choose, according to your heat tolerance. Choose from burritos to fajitas to nachos. You can even get enchiladas here, along with a secret recipe for some of the best sangria you might ever drink. There are mocktails if you’re not wanting alcoholic beverages, otherwise there are traditional margaritas, other cocktails and shots of tequila. While they have a regular traditional savoury breakfast menu, the vast majority of the menu of Sweet As Brew is full of chocolate. If you’re a fan of chocolate drizzled Belgian waffles, chocolate drizzled pancakes, anything drizzled in chocolate, this is the place for you. The place is eclectic, with mismatched chairs and with modern faces of Marilyn Monroe and John Lennon mixed in with The Kiss by Gustav Klimt.

It’s about a half hour drive away from the Brisbane city and is home to therum distillery that is heritage listed. The town is built up on the back of the sugar industry that later bloomed into successful rum making and exporting. Both residential and retail buildings reside on the south western side of the Pacific Motorway after it crosses the Logan River, where the river reaches an ‘S’ bend. You’ll find many a garage and storage unit available in the area, perfect if you’re wanting to store things such as furniture, documents, maybe even a mattress.

The Pacific Motorway and Highway is the fastest and most direct route to Beenleigh. You can alternatively take Kingston Road and enter Beenleigh from the western side of the suburb, however the fastest way in is still the Pacific Motorway. You can also get the train to Beenleigh from Ferny Grove and Bowen Hills closer to Brisbane. You can also access Beenleigh Train Station from the Gold Coast. The line goes straight past the station before continuing into the Brisbane CBD.
