Public Transport

Buses and trains are the most common forms of public transport that students utilise, as other options such as the light rail are not as accessible.

Trains

Only a 10 minute walk from the University, Redfern Station is the closest station to the Darlington/Camperdown campus. During all hours of the day, many students walk from Redfern along Abercrombie St to get to their classes. There is also a free shuttle bus to transport students from the Fisher Library to Redfern Station during the semester, allowing for fast and safe travel. Another station close to the main campus is Central Station. Only a 15-minute walk along City Rd and George St, Central Station is a stop for most train routes throughout Sydney, making it easier for students to make their way home.

Buses

Buses are a more easily accessible form of public transport, as there is a bus stop nearly on every street. There are free shuttle services that run through the main campus to nearby stations, such as the Fisher Library service that goes to Redfern Station. There are also buses on Parramatta Rd and City Rd that border the university and take students anywhere, with services that travel to Dulwich Hill, Bondi Junction, Parramatta, Newtown and the City.

On-Campus & Off-Campus Parking

Most universities in Sydney offer their students on-campus parking through casual rates or a parking permit that they can obtain through the university. Students who hold university parking permits are allowed access to parking around the New Law Building car park. Students and staff can also use the Electrical Engineering car park and M car parks on campus. Both permit holders and those visiting can use the Shepherd St car park with casual rates of $4 per hour or a flat rate of $24. Students and staff also have the option of street parking due to the limited availability of spaces. Click for more information on parking permit applications
